A Clinton woman has received a felony drug trafficking charge stemming from warrants issued by Clinton Police, who found drugs at a home where she was living.
Around 2:13 p.m. May 1, officers responded to 408 Byrd St. in reference to subjects trespassing and using drugs. The owner of the home had reportedly evicted the tenants, Ashley Brett Moore and Jaleel Frederick. When the owner went to check on the home on May 1, she smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the house, according to reports.
She called the police, but observed Moore and Frederick run from the home. Officers arrived and searched the home, finding 15 hydrocodone pills and one phentermine pill in a purse reportedly belonging to Moore. Warrants were obtained against her at that time.
Moore, 22, whose listed address is 111 Trace Ave., Clinton, was arrested this past weekend and charged on warrants with trafficking in opium or heroin and simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance. She was taken into custody at the Trace Avenue residence.
Moore was transported to the Sampson County Detention Center and placed under $20,000 secured bond.
