Sampson County Sheriff’s authorities are searching for the suspect responsible for shooting into a crowd at a Faison-area residence and injuring three people during the early-morning hours on Sunday.

At 12:35 a.m., officers responded to a call of shots fired at 214 Scarlet Lane. Upon arrival, they discovered three gunshot victims, all of whom were transported for treatment. The investigation is ongoing, sheriff’s officials said.

The three victims were listed in reports as Decorius Daughtry, 25, of Nicole Lane, Clinton; Kenjuan Morrisey, 21, of Royal Lane, Clinton; and Ruben Rodriguez, 23, of Conifer Road, Raleigh.

The suspect was listed as wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and a red belt. He was armed with a handgun, however no other description of the suspect was available.

Reports state that the gunman shot into a crowd of people, resulting in major injuries. Authorities could not advise the extent of the victims’ injuries or where they were transported. There were about a dozen other people listed as being at or near the address at the time, but it is not known whether they were in the line of fire.

“We have limited information at this time and will release more information when available,” Sheriff’s Lt. Marcus Smith said Monday.
