45 years of public service

Lila West of Rose Hill was recommissioned June 19, making her a notary for 45 years. All of her commissioned years, she said, have been as a no charge notary. On Aug. 2, West will be 95 years old and her goal is to be a notary for 50 years. She is a retired school teacher and taught 35 years in Sampson County. ‘Teaching was the love of my live,’ said West.
