Deputies seize 8 kilos of meth, arrest two

Two Duplin County residents are behind bars following a multi-agency search and discovery of nearly 20 pounds of meth at a Seven Springs residence.

Assisted by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Wake County Sheriff’s Office, and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, deputies with the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant June 11 on Buddy Boy Lane near Seven Springs.

According to reports, during the search of the residence, deputies located approximately 18.2 pounds of methamphetamine, or 8 kilos. Street value is reported as $828,800.

The occupants, who were later identified as Samuel Molina and Rocio Jeanette Munoz, were not home at the time of the search. Reports indicate that later that evening, the deputies made contact with Munoz, where they confiscated approximately 7.5 ounces of meth, 9 grams of cocaine, three firearms and $1,300 in cash.

Munoz was charged with four counts of trafficking in methamphetamine, conspire to traffic in methamphetamine, two counts of maintaining a place to keep a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was placed in the Duplin County jail under a $500,000 bond.

Two days later Molina was arrested during a traffic stop in the Kenansville area and charged with four counts of trafficking methamphetamine, conspire to traffic in methamphetamine, two counts of maintaining a place to keep controlled substances, possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed in the Duplin County jail under a $3 million secured bond.
