Voting is underway in The Sampson Independent’s 2018 Reader’s Choice Contest and, for the first time ever, “Best Of” ballots can now be submitted online via the newspaper’s website at clintonnc.com.
For decades, the Independent’s Reader’s Choice Contest has awarded top three winners in a bevy of categories recognizing Sampson County’s best. This year is no exception, and with the addition to the online voting element, could prove to be the largest participation to date.
For 2018, the Independent is giving out awards in nearly 100 categories honoring best goods and services, best people and best entertainment, food or drink. Visit clintonnc.com to see them all.
The contest began online on Sunday and will run through July 7. The print form will be available in the newspaper in every edition of the paper, from today’s through Friday, July 6.
“I am extremely excited about the amount of access this will provide to Generation X and the Millennials,” said SI’s advertising manager Shannon Best. “By making the ballot available online as well as in the paper, we are going to be able to deliver results that represent much more of Sampson County’s diverse demographic.”
Those wishing to submit an online ballot can follow the multiple buttons on the SI website to vote in the many categories offered. The page curl at the top right hand side of the home page will always be available to click and goes directly to the ballot.
To submit an online Reader’s Choice ballot, voters must register by using an email address that can be verified. Online voters can vote once per day. If submitting a print ballot, voters have to provide their email and phone number.
Each ballot meeting the rules will also be eligible in a random drawing to win a $100 Sessoms Jewelry gift card, free three-month SI subscription and a free cut and color from Fantastic Sams. For ballots to be eligible for prizes, at least 50 of the 93 categories have to be filled in. Winners of the prize drawings will be announced in the paper on Tuesday, July 10.
Winners of the 2018 Reader’s Choice Contest will be announced in the Aug. 4 special edition of The Sampson Independent.
