Midway ES teachers earn classroom grants

Three teachers from Midway Elementary School were honored by Principal Robin Cooper for pursuing grants to help with education in the classroom.

Julimar Arevalo, an English as Second Language Teacher, was recognized for receiving a Bright Ideas Grant for $1,350 for Guided Reading materials, which will be used to support students in small group instruction in the classroom.

Christina Detwiler, kindergarten teacher, received $1,000 from Donors Choice for Listening Center and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) coding materials.

Kimberly Jackson, kindergarten teacher, received a $2,657 donation from Bright Ideas and Donors Choose to help with education in the classroom.
