In 2013, Commit. Don’t Quit! was founded by Justin and Rachel Lane as a nonprofit, dropout prevention program intended to mentor, educate, and provide scholarships for southeastern North Carolina high school students.

The Commit. Don’t Quit! mission is to recognize high school seniors who have overcome negative circumstances, succeeded in spite of them and commit to encouraging other students to do the same. Commit. Don’t Quit! has partnered with the Garner Educational Foundation, North Carolina’s Department of Public Instruction’s Dropout Prevention Program and the National Dropout Prevention Program.

Since 2014, the program has awarded over $5,000 in scholarships to southeastern North Carolina high school seniors. On May 24, Clinton High School held its annual Senior Awards night. Mr. and Mrs. Justin Lane had the privilege of awarding a $500 Commit. Don’t Quit! scholarship to Clinton High School Senior, Yazmin Padilla. In the Fall, Yazmin plans to continue her education at Sampson Community College.
