A teenager is facing a felony drug trafficking charge following a traffic stop in Clinton late last week, according to reports filed Monday at the Clinton Police Department.
Nicholas Gobert, 19, of 295 Capers Walk Lane, Clinton, was charged with trafficking drugs. Gobert was arrested Friday afternoon during a traffic stop by uniform patrol officers.
According to reports, Clinton Police officers observed a vehicle with a 30-day tag traveling near the Agri-Exposition Center. Officers began to follow the vehicle as it traveled on Warsaw Road, but the vehicle made an abrupt turn into the civic center parking lot. When officers pulled into the parking lot behind the vehicle, all the occupants got out of the car and started to walk away.
They were detained and the investigation found 113 grams of codeine in an unmarked container, reportedly in Gobert’s possession. He was arrested as a result.
His bond was set at $15,000 unsecured.
