Theatre students to present Annie, Jr.

After the 10th performance of “Hairspray” this past Sunday, the cast was as talented and energetic as they were for every performance. There were no cast members who were glad it was over as the set was taken down after two weekends of near sell-out shows on Friday and two near sell-out shows on Saturday and Sunday.

This was the first time in a long time that the Sampson Community Theater has offered a performance on Sunday night but the numbers for this show were encouraging. We thank Angela Martin for her directing of this talented cast who had as much fun in rehearsals as they did for their formal performances. We thank Performance Dodge/Ford for their sponsorship of “Hairspray”. Look for this show to be on our agenda again in five years or sooner.

Angela Martin has been holding the Sampson Theater Summer Day Camp for the past two weeks and the 48 campers, ages 5 to 14 will show what our future actors may be as they present “Annie, Jr.” this Saturday, July 21, at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and one show at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 22. Patron sponsors are permitted to see this show free.

Thoughts until next week:

The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.

Being a women is a terribly difficult trade since it consists principally of dealing with men.

Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent.

Campers who have attended Angelia Martin’s Theatre Camp this past week will present Annie, Jr. Saturday, July 21 at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, July 22, at 2:30 p.m.
