It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas on the big stage of the Sampson Community Theater as Angela Martin directs her two casts of “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” in rehearsals that are currently underway.

With over 50 members in the two casts there are many families represented in this production which makes it a true community event for your community theater. Each cast will perform four shows on the two separate weekends which includes matinees on Saturday and Sunday and 8 p.m. shows on Friday and Saturday.

Jordan Shopping Center and Matthews Gifts are the generous sponsors of “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” and we thank them wholeheartedly for their support of the live arts in our county.

Tarnished Notes is a movie based on a book by Sherry Matthews, the editor and publisher of the Sampson Independent. It is currently being filmed at various locations in and around Clinton. Some of the actors in the movie you have seen on our stage first and include Taylor Gilbert, Nick Owen, Kathy Day, Clay Boney, Emma Moore, Catherine Smith, Perry Daughtry and Stephanie Prestage. We look forward to seeing some of our veteran actors perform in the movie.

Since “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” is the last show of our 2015 season it’s time to renew your Patron Sponsor tickets for our 2016 season. A Patron Sponsor ticket allows two people to attend all of our shows at a reduced rate and also get the name of the patron or business in all our programs. You may purchase your 2016 Patron Sponsor tickets by contacting any Board member or they will be available in November at the theater during our next show. Our proposed 2016 shows are listed below.

This is the last weekend to see Kathy Day perform at the Temple Theater in Sanford where she plays Grandma Addams in “The Addams Family”. There was a crowd of Clinton residents that attended the show last weekend and as usual Kathy made us proud.

Our website is available at: www.sampsoncommunitytheatre.org and we are on Facebook but if you visit us there, we ask that you “like” us while there.

Thoughts Until Next Week

You can find on the outside only what you possess on the inside.

Use the talents you possess, for the woods would be a very silent place if no birds sang except the best.

Woman knows what Man has long forgotten, that the ultimate economic and spiritual unit of any civilization is still the family.
