Autryville native Ray Starling has been named Senator Thom Tillis’ new chief of staff in Washington D.C. Starling is the son of M.F. and JoAnne Starling, who own Starling Farms in Autryville.
Starling has been Tillis’ general counsel and senior policy advisor in Washington since January. He was general counsel at the N.C. Department of Agriculture from 2007-12 and general counsel in the Speaker’s office from 2012-15. He has also been an adjunct professor at UNC-Chapel Hill and Campbell Law. He has a B.S. from N.C. State University and a J.D. from UNC Law.
