HARRELLS — To honor National Volunteer Month in April, UScellular associates in Clinton joined members of the Clinton-Sampson Rotary Club and the Clinton Rotary Club for a beatification project at the Harrells Community Center, planting flowers and shrubs purchased by UScellular and the two clubs.

This activity is among more than 40 Acts of Service that UScellular associates are hosting throughout its service areas across the country this month to also commemorate the company’s 40th anniversary.

“At UScellular, it’s important that we give back to the communities that we serve,” said Kirstin Jamerson, Clinton store manager for UScellular. “We’re excited to take part in an event with the Clinton-Sampson Rotary Club and the Clinton Rotary Club where we can create even more meaningful connections with each other while also taking the time to do something positive for the Harrells community by providing plants to enjoy by those who visit or pass by the Harrells Community Center.”

This project also coincided with the NC Rotary Club District 7730’s Day of Service, which was held on April 22, 2023.

Since 2009, UScellular has invested more than $35 million in monetary donations, technology resources and countless experiences to nonprofit organizations across the country. “This is a great service project for both our clubs,” Coite said during a noon-day Rotary meeting.

Coite, member chairwoman for the daytime club, praised UScellular for its willingness to help with the project.

“It was a great team effort,” she said. “We appreciate the partnership, one that will make a difference for the Harrells area.”
