People in the Roseboro community walk around the gym of the Roseboro Senior Center as part of the Older Americans Day celebration. The event went from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday with karaoke in the gym, booths for people to check out and a cake walk in a room across the hallway. The organizer of the event, Sheila Armwood, said that this event was to not merely to celebrate older Americans, but to show them that they can still do things even as they get older.

Members of the New Wave line dancers perform in the gym of the Roseboro Senior Center to celebrate Older Americans Day. They danced in front of a small crowd as people wandered in between the gym and the activity room where lunch was being served. All the dancers wore belts that made noise as they stepped and with fans that they snapped open during the song ‘Fireball’ by Pitbull. They danced to four songs.
