On Monday, the Clinton Lions Club had guest Marc Murphy, president and CEO of The Boys and Girls Homes of NC at Lake Waccamaw, present a program on Boys and Girls Home, in particular a current project to renovate the Lions Club Cottage. The Lions Club Cottage was dedicated to Boys Home Inc by the North Carolina Lions on June 2, 1974. The Clinton Lions Club has annually supported the Lions Club Cottage as far back as when Mrs J. Sebron Royal contributed to the refurbishment of the cottage in 1977 in memory of her late husband J. Sebron Royal, who was a Lions Club member. With the cottage renovation upcoming, the Clinton Lions Club contributed $2,500 toward the project. Pictured, from left, are: James Blackmon, club treasurer; Lee West, club president; and Murphy.
