KENANSVILLE — The James Sprunt Community College Small Business Center will offer “The Business of Farming,” an intense 8-week program designed to help farmers thrive and grow. Topics covered include marketing, budget and finances, making strategic decisions, and best practices. The specialized training sessions for farmers starts Jan. 30 and will run until Mar. 20, from 6 to 9 p.m.
These classes are free but students will need to register for them to ensure a seat. To register, visit http://bit.ly/FarmSchool2018 or call the Small Business Center at 910-275-6203.
Dinner is served prior to every class from 5 to 6 p.m., free of charge.
Farmers, and those interested in farming, will learn how to build the perfect business plan, create marketing tactics and techniques, and understand budget and financial issues. After completion, farmers will be better equipped to make strategic decisions and learn from best practices of other farmers.
Classes are offered as a service of the Small Business Center to the community. A graduation will be held, as well as a barbecue dinner at the conclusion of the 8-week training.
