In an effort to grow a business and help the community, Dollar General is constructing a new location in Sampson County.
Located at the intersection of Straw Pond School Road and U.S. 421, near Spivey’s Corner, construction is almost complete and the new business is scheduled to soon open.
Founded in 1939, Dollar General has been considered America’s General Store for over 75 years. The company’s mission is to serve others in the communities where there are stores.
“We’ll serve your neighborhood by providing low cost, high quality goods to those who need it, and creating jobs and other opportunities for people in the area,” the company’s website states.
In addition to saving customers money on the things they need, the company says they are also committed to making a positive impact in the communities they serve. More than $97 million in grants has been awarded to nonprofit organizations and schools. Plus, with every new store the company opens, countless jobs and opportunities are being created.
There are more than 12,000 stores throughout the United States and the business provides customers with the DG Private Brands, a collection of products that are exclusively created for and distributed by Dollar General.
Approximately 25 percent of the items sold in Dollar General are priced at $1 or less.
