Clinton’s Lady Dark Horses continued their push through East Central 3A/4A Conference Thursday night with a commanding 3-0 sweep over visiting Southwest Onslow.

Clinton wasted no time asserting control, opening the match with a dominant 25-7 first-set win. The Lady Dark Horses kept their foot on the gas in the second set, pulling away for a 25-15 victory before closing out the match with a convincing 25-12 third set victory.

With the win, Clinton improves to 9-6 overall and 3-2 in conference play.

The Lady Horses sit in third place in the East Central 3A/4A Conference standings, trailing undefeated East Duplin (5-0) and second-place Heide Trask (4-1).

As the season heads toward its final stretch, Clinton remains in the playoff hunt and will now shift their focus to a road matchup at Pender, who sits in last place in league play at 0-5, Monday. Then, the Lady Dark Horses will return home Thursday night for more conference action, hosting fourth place South Lenoir.
