In a physical match Monday, the Hobbton Wildcats got a 6-1 win over the East Bladen Eagles.
The Wildcats made some changes in the starting lineup and controlled the ball against the determined Eagles throughout the game.
“Last night’s 6-1 victory was a big step,” Hobbton coach Christian Vega attested.
“Moving some guys around and introducing new faces to the starting lineup gave us a positive look. The team played as one and stuck to the plan effectively. This win helps us lead the conference, setting a strong standard for the next games to come this season.”
Ricardo Diaz had four goals for the Wildcats. Adrian Molina and Daniel Jorge had one each.
The win moves the Hobbton team to 6-7-1 overall and 5-1-1 in conference play. The Wildcats are open the rest of the week. They play again Oct. 13 at North Duplin.
