Harrells Christian Academy junior Jeremiah Davis entered the 2025 football season with momentum and high expectations. By the time the season ended, he had cemented himself as one of the most dynamic two-way athletes in the Big East Independent Football Conference. His production, leadership, and impact on every phase of the game earned him the title of 2025 BEIFC Player of the Year, a unanimous selection by all conference coaches.

For Davis, the honor reflects months of preparation and belief.

“I feel like it was a great season,” he said during a recent interview. “We definitely could have improved on some things, but really, it’s just Coach believing in me and my teammates believing in me in preparation.”

Davis produced one of the most complete seasons in the conference during the 2025 campaign, starring at halfback, defensive back, and kick returner. His stamina, speed, and versatility made him a threat every time he touched the ball.

Some programs scale back players who take snaps both ways, but Davis embraced every responsibility.

“Yes sir,” he said when asked about contributing at a high level on both sides moving forward. “The expectations get higher and I’m trying to set the next milestone and achieve it.”

His coach saw that growth throughout the 2025 season.

“He’s always had the athletic attributes,” Crusaders head coach Clayton Hall said. “He’s just starting to learn how to use them. He’s seeing that he can be special. He had a little success and then it kind of exploded.”

Hall says Davis’ rare ability to stay fresh separates him.

“He never gets tired. I’ve never seen him get tired,” Hall stressed. “That’s what allows him to play at a high level on both sides of the ball.”

With his senior season ahead in 2026, Davis already knows what is expected.

“We have to get stronger in the weight room and play together more as a team … work on the little things, because Coach always tells us the little things matter,” the junior starter said.

He believes Harrells can elevate next year with many returners coming back to the gridiron.

“We’re having a lot of players return, and I’m pretty sure we’ll get some more people and be ready to get back to it.”

He is also committed to leading academically as he aims for the next level.

“Taking care of your studies plays a big part in the process,” Davis said. “I want to play at the next level. I’m just looking for an opportunity.”

Strength from

family and faith

Davis credits his drive to those closest to him.

“My teammates, family, and God,” he said. “My aunt, my mom, my dad, cousins, uncles — really all family members. They’re all here to support me.”

That support keeps him steady through the hits, soreness, and challenges that come with being a two-way star.

Hall says Davis sets the tone for everyone around him — from JV players to the elementary students who look up to varsity athletes.

“The JV kids see how hard he plays and how hard he works,” Hall said. “That catches fire. As far as setting an example, he’s a finer example of what to do on and off the field.”

And the Player of the Year award means even more, considering who votes on it.

“When you sit in a room with coaches and lay out what he’s done running the ball, catching the ball, kick returns, punt returns — it’s hard to ignore,” Hall said. “He rightfully earned that. He was unanimously selected for a reason.”

When asked if he believes he can surpass the numbers he produced in 2025 and make another run at conference Player of the Year, Davis answered plainly.

“Yes sir, for sure.”

With one year left, Davis is determined to elevate his game, his teammates, and Harrells Christian Academy football.

“I’m just looking for an opportunity,” he said. “And I’m ready to work.”
