Harrells Crusaders baseball saw its tournament run come to an end in the second round, falling to Clinton 6-3 in a game that mirrored their loss to Lakewood just a day prior.
Much like Monday night’s setback, Harrells found itself in an early hole it could not fully climb out of. Clinton jumped ahead quickly, building a 5-1 lead through the opening innings and forcing the Crusaders to play from behind for the majority of the contest.
Harrells showed signs of life down the stretch, trimming into the deficit, but the early damage proved too much to overcome as Clinton held firm to secure the 6-3 victory.
The Hobbton Wildcats also secured a 9-1 victory over Pender, and are slated to face th Dark Horses in the championship match of the tournament. See Saturday’s paper for a full recap.
