In July, the U10 All-Stars from Clinton Recreation’s youth baseball league won the Dixie Youth District 7 Tournament, compiling a 5-1 record and defeating North Duplin for the championship. Clinton Recreation’s Athletic director David Wall said the tournament win qualified the team for the North Carolina Dixie Youth Minor League State Tournament. ‘These kids represented the city very welll,’ Wall said. ‘We are extremely proud of the time, hard work and dedication these coaches, players and parents put forth.’ The team was recognized during a recent Clinton City Council meeting.
