Harrells Christian Academy traveled to Ravenscroft for their final regular season game on Friday. They made a great showing in the second half, but Ravencroft jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first half and the Crusaders simply ran out of gas, losing 36-18.
Harrells scored on a safety late in the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter, Derek Newkirk powered his way into the end zone from three yards out for the touchdown. The big play of the night was on an 88-yard touchdown run by Ty Scarborough. Gray Fussell dove in on the conversion run, closing the gap to 36-18.
Bryant and Scarborough led the Crusaders with 141 and 106 yards, respectively, both scoring a touchdown. Newkirk had 64 yards.
Harrells are now 5-6 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
The Crusaders will begin playoff action on Friday night when they travel to Concord to take on Canon High School. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
