Last week resulted in a perfect 3-0 record, pushing the overall season record to 33-11. Clinton stays undefeated with a victory over Wallace-Rose Hill, Lakewood demolished Hobbton, and Union defeated Midway. This is the final week of the regular season, which means some teams will need to get a win to secure their position in the playoffs.

Clinton hosts the Union Spartans on Senior Night in Dark Horse Stadium. Both Clinton and Union are coming off big wins against their rivals. If the Dark Horses can keep their focus after expending a lot of energy to beat Wallace-Rose Hill last week, they should easily take down the Spartans. On the other hand, if the Dark Horses get complacent at all, this Spartan team could give them considerable trouble. Clinton just has too much talent and speed for the Spartans and will take the Senior Night win to keep their regular season unblemished.

Final: Union 7, Clinton 48

Midway will host Wallace-Rose Hill on Friday night looking for a win after dropping their last game against Union. Things don’t get any easier for the Raiders as the Bulldogs come calling. The Bulldogs have outscored their opponents 370-88 so far this season and will be hard to stop. The Bulldogs cruise, sending Midway to their second straight loss.

Final: Wallace-Rose Hill 34, Midway 6

In the Game of the Week, Lakewood hosts James Kenan on Friday night in a Carolina Conference matchup. Lakewood can clinch the conference title with a win against the Tigers. Nothing seems to come easy for the Leopards this season and don’t look for that to change this week. James Kenan has struggled with injuries to key players this season, but the Tigers are well-coached and have talent all over the field. The Tigers quarterback did go down with injuries early in the year, but is back, and has led the Tigers to two straight wins. If Lakewood can jump out to an early lead and the defense can continue to play well, the Leopards may get a long overdue victory over James Kenan. Lakewood hangs on in the end and gets the win in another close one.

Final: James Kenan 20, Lakewood 21

Chandler Ray and the Lakewood Leopards will face Duplin County foe James Kenan on Friday for a first place bid.
