The Bulldogs of Princeton visited the Lakewood Leopards on Tuesday night. It was senior night for the Leopards, but unfortunately for Lakewood, they were unable to pull out a win and instead were beaten badly, 14-0. Princeton continues to add wins to their record as they have now won three out of their past four games.

The Bulldogs got on the board early and with ease. In the first inning alone, Princeton posted nine runs as they were on their way to blowing the Leopards out. It was a night destined for success for Princeton, as they continued to pour on run after run. They scored five more runs over the span of four more innings as the game was called early at five innings because a 14-point comeback was far-fetched, especially given the Leopards relatively young team.

Lakewood Leopards head coach David Yarasheski praised the Bulldogs for the type of team they have. “Princeton is a good team. They’re a very good team and they’re strong. Defensively and they’re strong at the plate. They have good pitching.” Yarasheski said. “We got in a hole early, and we were not able to get out of that hole.” Yarasheski continued.

Lakewood drops to a 6-7 overall record with the loss.

Princeton Bulldogs head coach Terry Braswell said his team played well offensively but still needs improvement. “We did well at hitting the ball. I’d still like to see some little better and stronger hits.” Braswell said.

Princeton improves to 13-5 overall with the win.
