The Lady Dark Horses got off to a rough start on their softball season, losing the opener big time on the road to South Brunswick. While Clinton had the game closely contested in the first few innings it didn’t last, the final 16-1.

The match up started out fine for the Horses with them barely trailing after the first inning finished. South Brunswick was able to find the home plate twice taking a small 2-0 lead. Clinton turned it around in the second inning, keeping the Cougars off the scoreboard while cutting into the lead. With a score of their own they closed the gap on the home team to 2-1, preparing to enter the third.

The game completely feel apart and got way out of hand in third inning, the Cougars pulling so far ahead they wrapped the game up by the end of it. With the Lady Horses failing to find another run that was not the case for the home team. South Brunswick caught fire ripping off 11, skyrocketing their small lead into a huge margin of 13-1.

With the game out of reach Clinton wouldn’t find another score before the game ended. Add on another three from South Brunswick and they closed the curtain on this game in the fourth inning 16-1.

A loss in their season opener puts them at 0-1, they’ll look to turn things around Friday when they host rival school Hobbton.
