Union faced the ladies of Heide Trask Monday night losing to them on their home field 9-1.

With six minutes passing in the game, neither side had broken the others’ defense. While Union seemed to be feeling things out, the game went south during the later half of the first half.

With the first period in the final 23 minutes, the Titans finally scored the first goal. This was followed by a second goal in the final 17 minutes of the period and again in the final 14 minutes, now at 3-0 the Spartans were struggling.

Falling behind, Union scored their first and only successful shot of the game in the final two minutes of the period.

Ending the period at 3-1, Union was two behind going into the final forty minutes. The Titans dominated the second half ending the game at 9-1, beating the Spartans by eight points.

Union with a lose in their season opener fall to 0-1 on the year as they try to bounce back. They take the field again next week when they travel to take on rival school Princeton in conference action.
