Young Wildcats dominate Spartans

Hobbton Middle and Union Middle faced off against each other in softball and baseball, with Hobbton taking big wins in both.

Softball

The Hobbton Middle girls softball team had a big afternoon against Union Middle as well. The final score was 16-1. The game was mercy ruled after five innings.

For the Wildcats, Abigail Simmons had four runs, Vanessa Jaarez two runs, Gracie Jones had two runs, Katie Martin added two runs. The young Wildcats runs continued to be spread out Emiley Gautier got two more runs, Laylay Aguilar had a run and Lucy Strickland had the final two. Gracie Jones pitched five complete innings.

The Wildcats travel to Roseboro-Salemburg Thursday as they start their season at 1-0. Union Middle will host Midway Middle on Thursday and fall to 0-1.

Baseball

The Hobbton Middle baseball team made short work of the Union Middle team Monday afternoon in their first outing. The final score was 14-0 after only two and half innings.

There were numerous walks that scored runs. Loden Bradshaw and Chase Darden were 2-for-2 at the plate and Marco Perez was 1-for-1.
