The Hobbton Middle girls soccer team traveled to Roseboro-Salemburg Middle Thursday and came away with a 8-0 win.
Hobbton was off to a roaring start giving themselves a huge in the first half thanks to a defense that played shutout and a rolling offense. The Wildcats were led by, young Wildcats standout, Makayla Esquivel’s four goals, all coming in the first half.
The Wildcats would add another four goals in the second half which came from four different players. Tamaya Brown, Ciara Bryant, Elizabeth Martinez and Shanty Garcia each had one goal that put them ahead 8-0 after another half of shutout defense.
“I am glad we have a number of girls who can score and we do not have to rely on one person,” said Hobbton coach Damon Burnett. “RSMS has a young team and throughout the game you can see them growing as players. They are a big team and we will have our hands full when we play them later on this season.”
Hobbton’s next game is at home Monday against another county rival team in Sampson Middle.
