CHS tennis earns another sweep

The Clinton men’s tennis team continues to play well this season, with dominating wins, something they accomplished again at Spring Creek. Traveling to face the Gators in an East Central match Monday afternoon, the Dark Horses came home with a 9-0 sweep.

This makes the second shutout victory in a row for the Horses as they are clicking in the earlier part of the season. Not only did they get the victory, but it wasn’t even a close match — epecially in singles play. Clinton took every match for singles in straight sets, notching wins by Cooper Brewen, Camden Thompson, Trevor Leggett, Lukas Jerez and Wesley Cowand.

The Horses completed their sweep in doubles action with the team of Brewen and Thompson on court one leading things off. Next to them on court two was the duo of Leggett and Sutter, who were victorious as well. Then on the final court, court three, Jerez and Cowand wrapped up the Gators to keep the score unblemished for the Horses.

The Dark Horses are 3-0 on the season and were to take on North Duplin Tuesday at the University of Mount Olive.
