Hobbton’s Krystal Martinez has been awarded the North Carolina High School Athletic Association’s Willie Bradshaw Memorial Endowed Scholarship for an outstanding female athlete.

Martinez’s letter of award congratulates her for”many accomplishments, her sound character and additional qualities” that led to her selection as the 2018 Willie Bradshaw Memorial Endowed Scholarship Region Two Award Recipient.

The Willie Bradshaw Memorial Endowed Scholarship is made possible through the generosity of the NCSHAA donors who designated their gifts to the Willie Bradshaw Memorial Endowed Scholarship. One female and one male in each region may receive a $750 to $1,000 scholarship to further his or her educational endeavors.

Martinez will be in Chapel Hill on May 3 for the presentation ceremony.

“I’m very proud of what I have accomplished,” commented Martinez. “It is an honor to be recognized as a student-athlete in my state.”

Hobbton’s Krystal Martinez, here running in a previous cross country meet, has been recognized at the state level for her accomplishments as a runner and as a student.
