HCA to host free summer football camp

The Crusaders of Harrells Christian Academy will be holding their summer football once again and it’s coming up soon. The camp will be led by second year head coach Jason Arnette next week on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The two-day football camp itself will be given at Harrells Christian Academy and will cover young athletes from grades 3-6 and grades 7-12.

Since the camp is split up based on grade the run time for each are also split. The 3rd-6th graders will be first and the start time is 9 a.m. and will run until 11 a.m. That will be all until that afternoon, then starting at 5 p.m. the 7th-12th graders will hit the field and go until 6:30 p.m.

Some of the main focuses that will be highlighted at this camp include teaching, team building, competition and over development of players. Which in turn is stated in their motto for this camp which reads, “Dynamic camp full of teaching, team building, competition and more! This camp is sure to help you become a better football player and a better all-around athlete.”

Arnette won’t be running this event alone either as his assistant coaches and varsity footballs will be assisting with the youth camp as well. Concessions will be open during the camp and all campers will receive a free camp T-shirt. Not to mention the best part about this experience is that it’s completely free to anyone.

For the campers who decide to attend they are expected to wear shorts, a T-shirt and cleats. However, sneakers will suffice if cleats are not available. Campers are also reminded to bring a much needed water bottle.

Camp dates are set for June 19 and June 20, any one interested in joining are to contact coach Arnette at jarnette@harrellsca.com.
