The Hobbton Wildcat soccer team put on a good show Wednesday hosting the Bulldogs of Princeton. Due to injuries, the Wildcats have been struggling this season. In this game, they held their own, but came away with a 3-3 tie.

Wildcat soccer coach Jonathan Jacobs spoke of missed opportunities following the game, as Hobbton missed many chances to grab the win.

“We should have won that match,” said Jacobs. “We had opportunities but we just couldn’t convert.”

Christian Vega scored 2 goals for the Wildcats. Urial Cruz had an assist. Johnny Ramos got the other Wildcat goal.

Hobbton’s team is still trying to get healthy, and though it wasn’t a win, this may be a step in the right direction for Jacobs’ team, who has loads of talent, but has had trouble gelling due to injuries.

The Wildcats will try to get back into the win column next week, as they are set to travel to North Duplin for another conference match. The game is set to begin at 6 p.m.
