The Hobbton Lady Wildcats lost their first conference outing Tuesday night to Princeton. The final was 51-17.

The Lady Bulldogs had a 9-2 run in the first quarter. In the second quarter, they extended the lead to 24-6. They added 13 in the third frame for a 37-14 lead going into the final period. They sunk 14 more in the fourth quarter against 3 points for the Lady Wildcats.

The Lady Wildcats played with intensity; however, they could not get their shots to drop.

“There is a reason they call us the Wildcats — we’re scratching and clawing, we’re getting after them,” commented Hobbton coach Jose Garcia. “I’m proud of the effort. My hat’s off to the other team as well. They played a good game. Once again, we’re going out there improving every time. It’s not about the points to me. It’s all about winning little by little. You can’t chop a tree down with one swing. It takes many swings.”

Jayla Wilkes led the Wildcat scoring with five. Kristy Cruz, Rylan Carter and Kameron Stocks had three apiece.

The Lady Wildcats are winless for the season. They play again Thursday night at Rosewood and host Neuse Charter Friday night.
