For the second time in seven days the Lady Dark Horse volleyball team faced off against the Eastern Wayne Lady Warriors. This time the outcome was much different and the Lady Horses closed out the visiting Lady Warriors in three sets to claim a 3-0 win over Eastern Wayne.

The Lady Dark Horses took the first set 25-16 then won the second set in a dominant fashion, winning 25-15 and appeared ready to close out the Lady Warriors. The third set saw Eastern Wayne stake out an early 5-1 lead before the Lady Horses clawed back into the set to take the win in a closely contested set, 25-20 to finish off the Lady Warriors.

After the game, Clinton head coach Jennifer Edgerton said, “we played much better today than we did the last time we played them (West Bladen). This is a good win for us and should really help us get ready for Pender and East Bladen coming up on our schedule.”

The win over the Lady Warriors improves Clinton’s record to 14-2 overall and 7-0 in conference play. Clinton will take to the road for two conference matches, playing at Pender on Tuesday and then at East Bladen on Thursday.
