HCA softball headed back to championship series

The Harrells Christian Academy Varsity Softball Team defeated First Assembly School today in the NCISAA 2A semi-finals. The final score was 2-0. The win advances the Lady Crusader to the championship series against Faith Christian School. The first game will be played Friday, May 15, in Kinston at Arendell Parrott Academy. Game time is 12 noon.

Marissa Parks had the a hit for HCA, as did in a game where there were just a total of 2 hits. Abigail Blanchard pitched a complete game shutout in the win, going 7 full innings. She struck out 5 and allowed just one hit. She walked one batter as well.

HCA is looking for a repeat of the state championship. This is the second year in a row that both the baseball and softball teams are playing in the state championship series, which is truly incredible.
