Harrells Christian Academy head football coach Jason Arnette will not be on the Crusaders’ sidelines this year, a fact confirmed by the athletic leadership at the school.
HCA athletic director Clayton Hall acknowledged recently that Arnette would not be associated with Crusader football this season. No further information about why, or what transpired, was provided.
Hall will now serve as the head football coach for the Crusaders, a change that came just days before the season starts.
Arnette took over for the Crusaders in 2017, after spending the previous six seasons at his alma mater, Clinton High School. He began his coaching career there as the JV head coach, and ended it as defensive coordinator before taking on the Crusaders’ role.
Under his leadership, the Crusaders went a combined 45-32 over 7 seasons, including an 11-3 campaign in 2021 that saw them lose 34-31 in the NCISAA Division 2 State Championship, as well as other playoff runs.
The Crusaders were 5-5 last year and 2-3 in their conference.
