Closing my Chamber journey

Janna Bass

As I sit down to write my last “Chamber Chat,” I reflect on the last three years of my Chamber journey. What a wonderful one it has been, an experience filled with lasting relationships and a stronger sense of pride to call Sampson County home! As many of you know, my husband and I welcomed our sweet little addition into our family this past November and I am honored to raise him in Sampson County so he can also call this home.

Throughout the past few years, I have been excited about the membership growth and new programs that have been implemented. I have full confidence in Laura Deans, incoming executive director, as I pass the torch. She also holds a strong passion for Sampson County ensuring the desire to see the business community grow and an overall increased quality of life.

As I look into the remaining days of 2015, I am excited for Laura to continue with the Chamber Matching Grant Program, Business Showcase taking place this September, Adult and Junior Leadership programs, community events, networking opportunities, seminars and much more. I am excited to announce the Chamber has launched our new website – I encourage you to check it out at The Young Professionals of Sampson County is also continuing to grow in membership and sponsorship. We are looking forward to that kick-off event in June.

I encourage Chamber members to continue to support one another, get involved with the Chamber and take advantage of these networking opportunities. I have seen businesses grow as they were involved in the Chamber so I am a true believer that we really can accomplish more together than one could individually.

So as I close this chapter and begin my new one at Sampson Community College, I encourage you to give me a call if I can ever be of assistance. All of us who call Sampson County home strive to see great things happen and we can only do that by working together.

I encourage you to stop by and visit Laura as she begins her role on June 1st. For more information about the Clinton-Sampson Chamber of Commerce, visit or call 910-592-6177. As always, I encourage you to get involved and let the Chamber work for you!
